Critical Chain Right Start

This two-day workshop is for a team of managers from a single company or business unit.  It creates the “to-be” process for a Critical Chain Project Management implementation, providing a forum to assess the organizational readiness for implementation and developing a statement of the future state processes, roles, accountabilities and measurements.

In the workshop, attendees are working through the obstacles for implementation and identifying a path forward to achieve the project management results they desire.  Through a facilitated discussion, best-practice elements are matched against the organizational reality to assess the current state of the processes and develop consensus on a strategy to move towards improving operating results.

We use the five questions on technology as a framework to develop the strategy:

  • What are the problems with the old technology?

  • What is the impact of using the new technology?

  • What are the rules in the old way of using the old technology that now need to be changed?

  • What new rules have to be invented to take advantage of the new technology?

  •  How will the use of the technology change as a result of introducing new tools?

  • How to implement?

Deliverables:

  • Gap” analysis of the organization against best practice
  • Defined implementation strategy with a business case

  • Team consensus on the approach to change

Attendees:

  • Project managers
  • Functional department heads involved in projects
  • Technical department heads involved in projects
  • Senior managers with business results accountability
